Charles Rattray, who was born
in 1880 in Scotland, founded in
1911 in Perth „the house of
Rattray“ after he finished his
apprenticeship in Dundee. It
developed to one of the most
famous company in the
scottish tabac industry. In 1964
Charles died and his son
Charles Rattray jr. took over
the company.
Since 1984 the company
Kohlhase & Kopp are producing
tabac and pipes in licence.
Rattray's pipes are famous for
their simple and precious
design, they are pipes for
fancier of classic bruyère
pipes. Also, only high-quality
materials such as bog oak are
used for the production. This is
why the name Rattray's
represents the traditional
scottish smoking culture.
